Obama's 57 States Gaffe

A family member brought this up yesterday so I looked it up to see what is going on.  It has been claimed that Obama was referred to the U.S. as containing 57 (Muslim) states.  After reading the actual quote, you can see that he meant to say he had visited 47 states, but accidentally stated 57.  I'm not really concerned by this, as it's natural to refer to the 50 states, and he got verbally tripped up when trying to state 47.  The original quote:

"It is wonderful to be back in Oregon," Obama said. "Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it."
