Basically, a teacher confiscated linux CDs from a student while claiming that "No software is free and spreading that misconception is harmful." I shudder at the thought of someone like this imparting their "knowledge" to our children, but this is standard operating procedure these days. If more schools used free, open-source programs, they would have money to pay for quality teachers and have more to spend on their students. If my children expressed an interest in using linux, I would be the first to encourage it.

While I agree with the parent, he made himself look like a complete moron with his atrocious abuse of the English language. I couldn't imagine sending something that poorly written to an educator.
