Customer Service

Reading this article, I am reminded that customer service is going the way of the dodo.  I can't stand going to Wal-Mart due to their poor service.  It seems that anywhere you encounter a cashier, you are lucky to get a "thank you, come again" or any kind of acknowledgment that you even exist.  I've been quick to forgive with these things, but if they continually happen, I do my best to avoid that store.  I won't go to our local Sonic because of repeated bad service and would avoid Wal-Mart altogether if our bank wasn't located in the store.  McDonald's doesn't seem to have anybody that speaks english anymore, and I also won't go to Carl's Jr due to the kiosks that have replaced the cashiers.  These companies my find the immediate benefits of hiring low-skilled workers and not training them to treat customers right, but in the long run, they will be losing business because of their shortsightedness.
