It's About Literacy Y'all - Who Needs Grammar?

I noticed these posters at my daughter's school and just had to shake my head. They are from a campaign to promote literacy program awareness in Oklahoma, called Read Y'all, which is sponsored by our library system. The first one I saw featured our governor, Brad Henry, and his wife. Apparently, they are using anybody with any hint of being a celebrity in the state, such as James Garner, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood and Garrett Mills. I'm all for promoting literacy, but shouldn't we promote literacy without resorting to butchering grammar?

Maybe, but at least it gets your attention.

I HATE these posters! I think they're incredibly annoying. They have a ton of other celebrities, including Megan Mullally from Will and Grace. Ugh.

This city has made so much progress in recent years with MAPS and getting a pro basketball team. I just hate to see stupidity like this undermine it all.

Aw...come on..."Y'all" ought to be in the dictionary. It's so Oklahoman. I'm from Western NY, where instead of 'y'all' we say 'yous guys'. Trust me, "y'all" is a step up.
